The invitation
"I never imagined I'd be immersed in a water spring in Israel on the eve of war with Iran."
Hello beautiful soul, my name is Dakota Chanel. I believe the stories we tell shape our world. And that all stories are scribed in the waters of life. This is a story of cultivating peace amidst war, creating beauty amidst chaos, and of ancient water sisterhood in modern times. Which all came together to inspire my friend Alison Serour and I to create this online gathering to bring together women around the world to share in water blessings for peace.
I never planned to go to Israel. And I definitely never planned to be there for the first week of the war with Iran. I was on the nearby island of Cyprus when my friend Alison, who lives on Mount Carmel, spontaneously invited me to come stay with her family and visit sacred water and Mary Magdalene sites for the weekend. Two of my greatest passions.
A few hours after I arrived on Mount Carmel, my friend brought me to an incredibly sacred spring. We drank the water, made offerings, prayed, and I did full body immersion. It was one of the most powerful water purifications of my life.
The next morning, on my way to an ancient cave church, the war between the US, Israel and Iran began. That first day, I received almost 40 missile attack sirens on my phone. The airports closed. My flight cancelled.
Hearing the dreaded sirens, running to safety, sheltering in the safe room, feeling missile explosions shake the floor, being with a baby and little children while this happened, I had never felt so afraid of death. Being American and never having been in a war, I felt the preciousness of life more strongly than ever. But instead of being paralyzed by fear, it activated my desire to create peace however I could. Reverent prayer became a constant. After a week with the airports still closed, and the US embassy saying I could be stuck indefinitely, I decided to escape the only way possible, by land via Egypt.
That week we were together, between missile sirens and safe rooms, Alison and I did everything we could to stay peaceful and be the change we wish to see. We made offerings with the waters, prayed at sacred bodies of water, created beauty in the midst of fear, and witnessed something profound. We were able to anchor moments of heaven on earth even in the midst of a war, especially near the water. We understand that this was a privilege. Many people in war experience much more dire and traumatic circumstances. It became clear how important it is for those of us who can, to anchor energies of peace.
I've taught water priestess arts for almost a decade, but seeing how essential these practices were even during war changed me forever.
We have faith in the waters.
Water unites us all. She does not discriminate based on religion, race, or gender. She flows through every nation, every body, every living being.
Water has the ability to create miracles. To create peace. To create a new world.
War must end. Let us work with the waters, as bodies of water, to do our part to create this change.
We want to share the full story with you and Alison's incredible story of miracle fertility healing with the water, because we believe in the power of stories to heal. But more than that, we want to gather as many women as possible for water blessings for peace.
If your heart longs to help create peace on this earth, we invite you to join us from wherever you are in the world. No previous experience is necessary, just an open heart and willingness to pray with the waters.
